They take you to the flagship. It's not a ship anymore—it's a floating fortress, converted from whatever military vessel it was before the integration into something that exists partially in System space. The metal walls shimmer with energy patterns you don't understand. The corridors are too long, dimensionally twisted in ways that hurt your brain to contemplate. Your cell is surprisingly comfortable. Clean bed, functional sanitation, regular meals. Raven's people treat prisoners well, apparently—or at least they treat valuable prisoners well. Victoria is in a cell nearby, close enough that you can talk through the walls. Her wounds have been treated by a Coalition healer—not completely restored, but stable. "You shouldn't have surrendered," she says on the second day. "Would you rather be dead?" Silence. Then: "I would rather have died fighting." "You can still die fighting. Just not today." --- ON THE FOURTH day, Commander Raven comes to see you personally. He's smaller without the armor—still large, but more human. His face, unveiled, is scarred extensively, burn marks and blade wounds mapping a history of violence across his features.
